Purpose:
Chi Sao is the glue that holds Wing Chun together, and provides a framework for developing sensitivity and structure. Unlimited variations and techniques stem off very basic approaches.

Objectives:

  • Perform all movements completely and with fluidity while shoulders are even and relaxed
  • Shift into a bong sao following outside pressure on an arm
  • Do chi sao quickly with relaxation and control, without shoulder tension
  • Lead a beginner in basic chi sao patterns
  • Retake the initiative against any attack or progressive attack
  • Defend oneself effectively against instructor
  • Maintain calm and relaxation in the circle
